Lesson 6: I Will Use My Gifts To Share Jesus With Others!
Main Point: I Will Use My Gifts To Share Jesus With Others!
Bible Story: Disciples share the Gospel at Pentecost. (Acts 2:1-41)
Bible Verse: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1 :8 (NLT)

When I was a boy, my father invited me to go fishing with him at the lake behind my grandparents’ house. We went out to the lake together early in the morning. We walked down to the shore and talked about the type of fish we would be trying to catch. As we got ready to fish, I realized that there was one important thing that my father did that made it possible for me to fish with him.

He gave me a rod and reel. It wasn’t shiny and new. It was old, dusty, and sturdy. With that rod and the different tackle, baits, and lures that my father gave me from my grandfather’s tackle box, I caught my first fish. It was a sunfish, barely bigger than my hand. In that moment, I became a fisherman, and it was the gift I was given that made me able to do it. We went fishing many times after that for many different types of fish. Each time, my father supplied just the right type of tackle, gear, or boat, that was needed for the trip.

In life, we have a Heavenly Father who also invites us to fish with Him. And, like my father, He is willing to supply every gift that we may need along the way. Jesus said to follow Him and He would make us fishers of men. So, remember, when we follow God, Jesus will supply us the tackle that we need in order to reel those fish in.

“Jesus called out to them, ‘Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!’” Mark 1:17 (NLT)
“So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.” Romans 12:6b (NLT)
