Church cancelled…Service begins!!!
We can't control the weather but we can serve others when God says to! Because of Fay and friends and vacations we moved Takin it to 9-7-08. Please contact the church if you cannot fulfill your team leadership committment.

Sign up today to serve in one of the following simple service projects: Project #1 - Pascagoula High SchoolWeed and re-mulch all flower beds on west and north sides of building. Trim/shape shrubbery. Plant four fruit trees in courtyard 9:00-11:00 Project #2 - Jackson County Sheriff Department - LUNCHPrepare 2-3 dishes to provide lunch for the deputies on duty. Dishes ready by 11:00 for delivery at 11:30. Project #3 - Pascagoula Police Department - LUNCHPrepare 2-3 dishes to provide lunch for the officers on duty. Dishes ready by 11:00 for delivery at 11:30. Project #4 - Moss Point Police Department - LUNCHPrepare 2-3 dishes to provide lunch for the officers on duty. Dishes ready by 11:00 for delivery at 11:30. Project #5 - Pascagoula Fire Department - LUNCHPrepare a dish to provide lunch for the firefighters on duty (3 stations). ALSO, prepare casseroles that can be frozen and placed in F.D. freezer for future use. Dishes ready by 11:00 for delivery at 11:30. Project #6 - Moss Fire Department - LUNCHPrepare a dish to provide lunch for the firefighters on duty (3 stations). Add new stepping stones in one location. 9:00–11:00 Project #8 - Arlington Elementary School, PascagoulaPaint wooden benches in front of building. Re-mulch all flower beds. 8:00–10:00 Project #9 - Beach Elementary School, PascagoulaInstall bulletin board strips in 4 classrooms. Requires use of power tools and precision installation. 9:00-11:00 Project #10 - Jackson County Exceptional School, PascagoulaLandscaping front flower beds. 9:00-11:00 Project #11 - Lake Elementary School, PascagoulaLandscaping and remulching front flower beds. 9:00-11:00 Project #12 - Soles 4 Souls Shoe Collection ProjectUnpack, sort, and band all shoes collected during the month of August. Re-pack shoes for shipment to mission warehouse. This project will take place inside COTR. 9:00-11:00 Project #13 - Hot Dogs & Popsicle Giveaway at Bayou Cassotte Homes, PascagoulaReport to COTR to cook and wrap hot dogs. Then travel to Bayou Cassotte Homes on Martin Street to give away hot dogs, popsicles, balloons, chips, and other free items. 10:30-12:30 Project #14 - Eastlawn Elementary School, PascagoulaWeed flower beds and trim shrubs. Add mulch to existing beds. Edge sidewalks. Plant new shrubs in designated location. 8:30-10:30 Project #15 - Assemble Hygiene Kits for the HomelessWe will be collecting items for homeless hygiene kits all month (see shopping lists in foyer). 200 kits will be assembled here at COTR. 11:00-12:30 Project #16 - Assemble Voice of the Martyrs Action PacksUnpack and sort all donated items. Re-pack into vacuum bags for shipment to Voice of the Martyrs for use in disaster ministry around the world. 10:00-12:00 Project #17 - Laundromat QuartersCOTR will provide rolls of quarters. Visit local Laundromats and spend ½-1 hour paying for everyone’s laundry, assisting customers with folding and child-entertainment. 8:00-12:00 (2 shifts) Project #18 - Litter Pick UpThe Cities of Pascagoula and Moss Point will provide us with roadways that need attention. COTR will provide orange vests and garbage bags. 8:00-12:00 (2 shifts) Project #19 - Childcare for Service DaySome families won’t be able to include their children in their chosen service project. So, we need volunteers to care for children ages 0-5 at COTR in two-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Volunteers for this service MUST ALREADY BE A PRE-APPROVED COTR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY VOLUNTEER! Project #20 - Free Car WashWe will set up at various locations throughout Pascagoula and Moss Point and offer “Free, No Strings Attached” car washes. 10:00-1:00 Project #21 - Cherokee Elementary School, PascagoulaLandscaping and cleanup. 10:00-12:00 Project #22 - Soft Drink/Water GiveawayThis project team will set up ice chests at key locations in the community to give away free soft drinks and bottled water. 8:00-12:00 (2 shifts) Project #23 - Nursing Home Visits – Manicures for the PatientsVisit local nursing homes with carnations and smiles. If you can, offer a simple manicure to one of the patients. Project #24 - Yard Work for Seniors/Shut-InsThere are a few local seniors who desperately need yard work, from mowing to leaf-raking to weeding…can you give a couple of hours? Project #25 - Charlotte Hyatt Elementary School, Moss PointLandscaping and cleanup. 10:00-12:00 Project #26 - Central Elementary School, PascagoulaLandscaping and cleanup. 9:00-11:00 Project #27 - West Elementary School, Moss PointLandscaping and cleanup. 9:00 – 11:00 Project #28 - Pascagoula High School (2 of 2)Repaint cement/wood benches in front of the school. 10:00 – 12:00 Project #29 - Boat Launch OutreachEarly shift will help boaters with launching, provide complimentary coffee and doughnuts. Noontime shift will assist boaters returning to shore, offering cold water, burgers, and chips. 7:00 – 9:00 and 11:00 – 1:00 (2 shifts) Project #30 – Trent Lott Middle School, PascagoulaLandscaping and cleanup. 9:00 – 11:00 Project #31 – Gautier Police & Fire Departments - LUNCHPrepare 2-3 dishes to provide lunch for the officers on duty. Dishes ready by 11:00 for delivery at 11:30. Project #32 – Our Daily Bread Backpack BuddiesSort and re-box all donated foods.
