What If... Expedition 2008
Pastor's Letter

Dear Church Family,

For over 20 years, Church on the Rock has been a church with doors wide open to everyone, regardless of their race, finances, or where they are on their spiritual journey. Reaching out to people has always been at the heart of this church. I am amazed at the way God has worked through the people of this church as we have tried to follow Him the best we can. There are literally thousands of life-change stories with a common theme: someone touched by the love and grace of God. As a church body, so many of you listen and respond to His will with your time, talents, and resources.  Surely that’s why we see God doing miraculous things in our midst as we fully devote to follow Him.

Church on the Rock is at our most critical point in history. Physical space constraints make our open doors feel closed to new people. Seats in the worship center are difficult to find nearly every Sunday morning. Our Kids Rock rooms are literally overflowing with children. Our youth have no place in our current building to call their own. Other ministry challenges face us every day…a near-capacity nursery, limitations on our drama and dance teams, no space for outreach ministries, and the list goes on. It is clear that God is calling on us to respond!

In October of 2007, Church on the Rock purchased 11.5 acres of prime real estate, including a 16,000 square foot building, on Highway 63 in Moss Point, just ¼ mile north of the very busy Interstate 10 interchange. We paid $1.6 million. God is leading us to build a $4.0 million building on that property and renovate the old building to accommodate our children’s and youth ministries.

The Time to Build Is Now!

We can’t wait any longer. God has given us a strategic location and opportunity to reach the fastest growing areas of southeast Mississippi.

It Will Take All of Us Sacrificing Together

The cost of building is too great for only a few to carry. We must each do our share and give our part. Your church needs your commitment now like never before. It’s time to give something back.

 What Is My Part?

Our theme is What If: Expedition 08. What if what happened in the New Testament church could really happen in Church on the Rock? Often to receive a blessing means sacrifice—and sacrifice means willingly giving the best I have for a great purpose. While we cannot all give the same amount, we can all sacrifice somehow. This way everyone can have a part. For some, a sacrificial gift given over three years may be $1,000. For others, a sacrifice may be closer to $100,000. God will impress a specific amount on your heart if you sincerely ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. Stacey and I are making the largest financial commitment we’ve ever made to God’s work during What If: Expedition 08.

This Is Your Opportunity

…to make a difference with your money.

…to do something significant that will outlast your life.

…to leave a legacy for our children and future generations.

…to be a part of a miracle.

What If: Expedition 08 is about continuing our mission of reaching people. It is not ultimately about buildings, although it starts with buildings. In this brochure you will learn the details of our vision for what lies ahead, and your opportunity to participate.

God is orchestrating something beyond the scope of what we can fully understand. I’m excited to be a part of it! A vision of this scale is a huge risk and is possible only when it is lined up with His direction and calling. Let’s keep our focus clear in the coming weeks as God unfolds His plans for our church and our lives.  Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your pastor.

 In Christ,

Rodger Bradley

It's time to climb!
