How many of you have considered becoming a member of COTR but never knew quite how to do that?  Or maybe you’ve just been comfortable attending but are ready to take your journey farther.  WELL, come Explore the Rock!  The Journey begins on the third Sunday of every ODD month.  We provide a light lunch for all those who sign up to participate right after the 11 o’clock service.  You will meet our pastor and each of our staff and families and hear about their testimonies and background and ministry areas; you’ll hear about the history of Church on the Rock and how it started, what we believe, our purpose and vision both now and for the future.  You can explore the many ministry opportunities that are waiting for one of God’s people like YOU to help us reach more unchurched, unconnected, unsaved people.  Topics like salvation, baptism, and spiritual gifts are all explored on this journey.  You’ll have the opportunity to participate in an online spiritual gifts inventory to help you discover how God has gifted YOU to serve others.  It’s a journey EVERYONE who still feels “new” to COTR should take.  Sign up for the journey online at jesusistherock.org, just follow the Explore the Rock link, OR you can call the church @ 228.762.3221 ext. 303.  Childcare available upon advance request .  You can register in events.  Just look for the next Explore the Rock and register. Many of you “Rockers” are asking, “how to I get connected with ministry and others in our church? How do I grow from here?”  Well, here is your opportunity to Get Connected and Climb!  Starting the third Sunday of every EVEN month right after the 11AM service, we will serve a light lunch (cost $5/person) and get you connected!  Togehter we Climb classes  are divided into three areas and will each meet twice per year.  First is for new Christians; those who have recently found Christ or have never really explored their faith.  Next is a comprehensive look into your spiritual gifts called "How to Find Meaning and Fullfillment Through Understanding Your Spiritual Gifts".  Lastly, is a seminar on Leadership Development designed to help you grow from being a servant to a servant leader.  All of the seminars will give you the opportunity to explore one or more of the many volunteer ministries here at COTR that help us reach unchurched, unconnected, unsaved people.  You will also have the opportunity to join a small group.  These are simply groups of people like you who meet together for fellowship, prayer, bible study, and encouragement…things we all need.  You must take an online spiritual gifts inventory (hard copy also available) before  the Spiritual Gifts class.  The other classes involve a curriculum also so  advanced registration for all is necessary.  So get CONNECTED and then CLIMB!  Childcare provided on advance request at registration. We are currently seeking new Facilitators for Small Groups.  If you are interested OR you have an idea for a small group, please email me, David Tadlock, at davidt@jesusistherock.org.  If you would like to lead, facilitate, or host a small group, please take the spiritual gifts survey first.  Afterwards, we offer online video training and bi yearly classes that are mandatory for small group leaders.  You must be a registered user on the website to view the videos.  You can download the PDF guide, watch the video training, and take the notes and attend the next training class and you'll be ready to LEAD!  Click here to link to the training site.

• TWC Groups - "Together We Climb" - Small Groups of people/couples who enjoy similar activities or things in life, who will meet, fellowship and pray together and for each other AND build relationships with others like them who are unchurced, unsaved, and unconnected; i.e. "Bikers that ROCK" - men who like to ride motorcycles and such.
  
• ICU Groups - "Intensive Care Units" - Needs based groups that meet together to help cope and breakthrough tough areas and situations of life; i.e. financial training, divorce care, addiction recovery.
  
• SEED Groups - "Study Edify Educate Disciple" - Groups of persons who just want to/need to dig deeper into God's Word...the "become fully devoted followers of Christ" part of our vision.
